Privacy Policy

WeClips ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. WeClips is a Christian-friendly, ad-free, member-supported short video sharing service.
1. Information we collect
You give us
- Account info — email address, password (hashed with bcrypt), display name, username, optional bio, optional profile picture.
- Content you upload — videos, comments, likes, follows, reports.
- Subscription receipts — purchase records from Apple/Google verified through RevenueCat. We never receive your credit card or full payment details.
Collected automatically
- Approximate IP address (for security and abuse prevention only — not stored long-term).
- Server access logs (URL, status code, timestamp) for diagnostics.
- In-app interaction events such as view counts and like counts on videos.
2. How we use it
- Provide the service: store and stream the videos you upload, deliver comments and follows.
- Authenticate you and protect your account.
- Send transactional email such as password reset links via SendGrid.
- Process subscriptions through Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.
- Enforce our Community Guidelines (no demonic, sexual, hateful, or AI-generated content).
3. Third-party processors we share data with
- Cloudflare R2 — stores your uploaded videos.
- MongoDB — stores account, comment, follow, and metadata records.
- SendGrid — sends password reset emails.
- RevenueCat / Apple / Google — process subscription purchases.
We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.
4. Children
WeClips is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete it.
5. Your choices
- Edit or delete your data — change display name, username, bio, email, password, or profile picture from the in-app Edit account screen.
- Hide your followers — toggle in Edit account.
- Hide your email — off by default; opt in from Edit account.
- Delete your account — tap Delete account in Profile. You have a 30-day grace period to sign back in and restore. After 30 days everything is permanently erased.
- Block or report users / videos — long-press a user or video to access these actions.
6. Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. After you request deletion, your data is fully purged 30 days later. Backups are rotated and overwritten within 30 days.
7. Security
Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes. All traffic uses HTTPS. Videos are uploaded directly to Cloudflare R2 over presigned URLs. Subscription receipts are validated server-side.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever the practices change. For material changes we will notify you in-app or by email.
